Oil & Gas Equipment Suppliers in Nigeria: Sourcing, Standards & Compliance

FirstSupply Engineering Team· FirstSupply.ng·19 June 2026·2 min read

Oil & gas procurement in Nigeria has a higher bar than general industrial supply: equipment must meet the right standard, carry the right certificates, and clear customs cleanly. Get any of those wrong and the cost is measured in stuck cargo and failed inspections. This guide covers how to source it properly.

The standards that actually matter

For Nigerian oil & gas requisitions, certification is the specification. The recurring standards:

  • API — e.g. API 6D vs API 600 for valves; also API for wellhead and pipeline equipment.
  • ASME — pressure design and dimensional standards (e.g. B16.10, B16.34).
  • NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156 — sour-service materials for H₂S environments.
  • ATEX / IECEx — electrical and electronic equipment in classified hazardous areas.
  • EN 10204 3.1 — material test certificates with traceability.

A quote that does not state certification is incomplete. Always require it on the line.

What we supply

FirstSupply.ng supplies the core oil & gas equipment families:

We also supply genuine OEM brands where authenticity is non-negotiable — see the brands we supply, including Hypertherm, EST Group, Hi-Force and TorcUP.

Vetting a supplier

Before you commit a PO, confirm the supplier can:

  1. Quote to specification and state certification per line.
  2. Prove authenticity for OEM-critical items (genuine make/model, not a substitute).
  3. Handle import compliance — Form M, SONCAP and PAAR — as importer-of-record if goods are sourced abroad. See our import guide.
  4. Deliver to site, including the Niger Delta and Onne.

Sourcing and import

Specified oil & gas equipment is frequently sourced internationally. The compliant sequence — open the Form M before shipping, certify under SONCAP, clear via PAAR — is what keeps cargo moving and avoids demurrage. Our procurement and import solutions cover sourcing, compliance and DDP delivery end to end.

Frequently asked questions

Who supplies oil & gas equipment in Nigeria?

FirstSupply.ng (First Supply Nigeria Ltd) supplies certified oil & gas equipment in Nigeria — valves, instrumentation, controlled-bolting tools, test/isolation plugs, gas detection and PPE — with import sourcing to specification and delivery to Lagos, Port Harcourt, Onne and the Niger Delta.

What standards matter for oil & gas equipment in Nigeria?

The common ones are API (e.g. API 6D pipeline valves, API 600 gate valves), ASME pressure and dimensional standards, NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156 for sour service, and ATEX/IECEx for electrical equipment in hazardous areas. Material traceability is documented with EN 10204 3.1 certificates.

Can you supply against an operator's datasheet?

Yes. Send the datasheet or BOQ and we quote each line to specification, with the required certification confirmed on the formal quotation. For specified or OEM-specific items we source internationally and import as importer-of-record.
